THE port of Yeosu Gwangyang, South Korea's second-largest by volume, posted another year of contraction in container throughput numbers as the stagnation of the wider regional economy and shrinking trade volumes continued to hurt. Its container throughput fell for the second consecutive year, by 3.3% to 2.25m teu, compared to a decline of just 0.5% in 2015, according to data from the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries.
