Bridge Street Bridge - the first CFRP prestressed concrete bridge in the United States

The Bridge Street Bridge in Southfield, Michigan, is the first vehicular prestressed concrete bridge in the US to be constructed using carbon fibre reinforced polymer (CFRP) material as the principal structural reinforcement. This paper presents the design, fabrication, erection, instrumentation and long-term monitoring programme details of the structure and various measured response parameters during different construction stages.
