Sakhalin Island concrete gravity platforms near completion

The final tower of the huge gravity base structure of the Piltun Oilfield was completed in January 2005 in a temporary dry dock in Vostochny, near Vladivostok in Russia. December 2004 saw completion of the adjacent Lunskoye platform, built in the same graving dock, for a neighbouring field in the Sakhalin Island energy offshore development programme in Eastern Russia.
