Insulated concrete formwork: a fast, efficient housing solution

Insulated concrete formwork (ICF) is a fast, efficient, cost-effective method of construction. Originating in Germany, BASF patented expanded polystyrene (EPS) in 1949, naming it Styropor. In 1950, the first formwork was made from Styropor then called the 'IGLU' System. Equally suited to new-build and extensions alike, its merits are becoming increasingly recognised in the UK and worldwide.
