Research on widening of Harbin Songhuajiang Highway Bridge

Harbin Songhuajiang Highway Bridge was completed in August 1986. Since then, it has provided improved communication between the town and country and has accelerated economic development. The bridge is made up of the nine-span main bridge (59m + 7 × 90m + 59m = 748m, continuous) and the 15-span approach bridge (15 × 30m = 450m, simple supported). The width of the deck is 24m, consisting of a 19m carriageway and two 2.5m walkways. An elevation of the main bridge and the bridge approach is shown in Figure 1.
