IEEE Computer Society real-world software engineering problems: a self-study guide for today's software professional

For several years, the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) has been offering certification through its Certified Software Development Professional (CSDP) examination. As part of the effort to develop and support this certification process, a group was formed by Fernando Naveda in 2002 to develop a software engineering problem book. This volume is the culmination of that effort.rnThis book contains 142 problems, organized into the 11 categories of the Guide to the software engineering body of knowledge (SWEBOK), the document that provides an overview of software engineering as a basis for the CSDP exam. Coverage is not even, however: some sections have many questions (there are 31 questions about software requirements, and 30 about software design), while some sections have very few (there are only four questions about configuration management, and four about tools and methods). The authors explain that the distribution of questions corresponds to the category weightings used in the exam.
