The geospatial Web: how geobrowsers, social software and the Web 2.0 are shaping the network society (Advanced Information and Knowledge Processing)

Recent developments in open-source geospatial Web technology, such as geobrowsers and their integration with Web 2.0, deliver convenient application-oriented access to geospatial datasets and to all sorts of georeferenced information. Key factors driving the present large-scale adoption of geospatial Web services include the availability of simplernuser interfaces, which hide the technical aspects of finding and retrieving information, and an active open-source community that is able to propose new features and to solve the associated practical issues.
