For some time now, the classic reference in artificial intelligence (AI) has been Russell and Norvig [1], a text rooted very much-despite its title-in the "neat" approach to AI, as opposed to the "scruffy" approach, to use Jones' terminology; in other words: top-down, model-driven, algorithmic versus bottom-up, data-driven, and learn-by-example.
