Real-world service-oriented architecture (SOA) implementations include both success and failure stories. Examples of failures mostly point to some anti-patterns during implementation, such as lack of governance, vendorsrndriving architecture, and using the silo approach for service creation. This book attempts to discuss the root cause of such failures and to provide the strategy and guidelines to service-oriented architects to avoid such pitfalls. Based on their own real-world experiences, the authors have made a good effort to incorporate in this book many issues related to successful SOA implementations.
