This book is a special volume that contains selected papers from the Tenth International Conference on Intelligent Engineering Systems (INES 2006) and the Fourth International Conference on Computational Cybernetics (ICCC 2006). Broadly speaking, the areas of interest are related to the application of artificial intelligence (AI) and cybernetics to industry control and automation.rnSeven parts, containing 39 papers, comprise the book. The first part, "Intelligent Robotics," consists of five papers that deal with various issues in robot control. Part 2 presents three papers, under the rather broad title of "Artificial Intelligence."
