Pick-by-Vision comes on age: evaluation of an augmented reality supported picking system in a real storage environment

This paper describes the design and evaluation of augmented reality (AR) systems, to help workers perform order picking. Order picking is the gathering together of collections of specified parts from storage bins for delivery to other stations in the factory or for distribution to outside customers. Order picking is a critical step in manufacturing that is difficult to automate.
