This well-prepared and well-organized book deals with robot ethics-a key and sometimes overlooked issue in robotics. It addresses the role of robotics in our society from a rigorous and serious point of view-note that this key point has been traditionally misunderstood and perhaps confused by science fiction. Although robot ethics is a wide field and it must be taken into account in almost every robotic development, the authors summarize the hot topics into several sections of the book, including "Design and Programming," "Military," and "Medicine and Care"; they look at these topics from an application point of view.
