The basics of digital forensics: the primer for getting started in digital forensics

New security breaches make the news almost every day and one might assume that the need for investigation and digital forensics is well understood. This is not the case, and the author attempts to address this gap. Sammons has written this book to educate the general public about the basics of digital forensics. The target audience is similar to that of Solomon's book [1]. It is much easier to grasp than oft-cited books such as Carrier's [2] or more encyclopedic volumes such as Casey's [3].
