Some supply chain leaders know intuitively that better collaboration internally and externally with their partners makes sense and will create more stakeholder value, yet are not sure what to focus on. Others have to be convinced. This paper addresses the needs of both. There is a growing body of knowledge that supports the benefits of supply chain collaboration. In their 2009 book, Poirier, Quinn, and Swink identify close collaboration with selected partners as one of the ten traits of the best supply chains.
