Information technologies are viewed today as strategic assets of organizations. Because the innovative use of IT systems in services is becoming a critical factor in the continued success of a firm, the aim of this book is to introduce the reader to the current research and practice related to the design and utility of intelligent decision making support systems (iDMSS) that discriminate the quality and effectiveness of IT-based services. This book is quite eclectic. For example, it covers decision making advances in a number of areas, including IT services management, business process management systems (BPMS), inter-organizational enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, mining of electronic health records, and group decision making.
