pHealth 2013: Proceedings of the 10th International Conference on Wearable Micro and Nano Technologies for Personalized Health

Beyond the genetic and biomolecular scope of personalized medicine, personalized health (pHealth) expands patient care to a broader context where any health-related input is used to process and identify better actions to take, treatments to dispense, and feedback to provide for enhancing personal well-being. Protocols using ambient electronics to assist an aging person, or processing emotions of autistic children from digital input, can indeed be considered pHealth. This extended scope engulfs a large variety of applications, including wearable technologies, bio-impedance electronics, wireless sensors, software engineering, enhanced interfaces, signal processing, and statistical data categorization. Clearly cross-functional in nature, it requires researchers to consider additional subjects matters at the margin of their own expertise. The series of conferences to which these proceedings belong address that issue and are a forum that brings these disciplines together.
