GDIA: eliciting information requirements in emergency first response

摘要

First responders need a systematic approach for eliciting information requirements appropriate to the hazardous environments and dynamic emergency situations in which they operate. Thus, an approach is presented consisting of a goal-directed information analysis (GDIA) method that precedes the established goal-directed task analysis (GDTA) method with an iterative task identification phase. This phase progresses from context discovery to building emergency scenarios from which physical tasks are identified. Subsequently, the GDTA method is applied, leading to the development of goal-decision-information (GDI) diagrams that indicate how decisions and information requirements are related to goals.
