Toronto - Enrolment in information technology programs at community colleges is down 50 per cent even though employers are calling colleges looking for new hires, according to Paul Brennan, director of corporate and community relations for the Association of Canadian Community Colleges in Ottawa. "We're getting more and more requests for employees from employers. To us that indicated a crisis," he said at the National IT Human Resource Forum which met in Toronto recently to discuss ways to encourage students to enter the IT field.
