摘要

Technology investments don't necessarily lead to the reduced costs and improved patient care that some healthcare organizations expect, according to a recent Canadian study of decision support software. The study, which was done by a group of London, Ont., researchers and published in the March 9, 2005, issue of the Journal of the American Medical Association, found that while computerized decision support systems are improving, they are no panacea for the ills that plague the system, which include medical errors, un-derstaffing of doctors and nurses and long wait times.
