A multinational ring of hackers that allegedly stole tens of millions of credit and debit card numbers from U.S. retailers used wardriving and sophisticated programming skills to exploit network and system vulnerabilities, according to the federal government. Then the group encrypted the stolen data, stored it on compromised servers and sold it for millions of dollars through underground Web sites, the Department of Justice claimed in court documents filed last week.
