Structural optimization

摘要

This special issue of computers and structures includes selected, extended, reviewed and revised papers in structural optimization, presented at the III European Conference on Computational Mechanics: Solids, Structures and Coupled Problems in Engineering, held at the National Civil Engineering Laboratory, Portugal, from 4th to 9th of June 2006. The conference was attended by 842 participants from 56 countries, including leading scientists and engineering staff form universities, research institutions and industry, and Ph.D. students. The guest editors are grateful to all authors for their effort in writing the papers in time and acknowledge the outstanding work of all reviewers, allowing this special issue to be published as planned. We are grateful to Andrea Marques and Ana Catarina Amador, for their effort, organization skills and valuable assistance in the conference and in the preparation of this
