摘要

This special issue includes twenty one extended, reviewed and revised papers originally presented at the Twelfth International Conference on Civil, Structural and Environmental Engineering Computing (CC2009) and the First International Conference on Soft Computing Technology in Civil, Structural and Environmental Engineering (CSC2009) held concurrently Funchal, Madeira, Portugal, 1-4 September 2009. Dr Ismail Caylak was awarded the CC2009 - Young Researcher Best Paper Prize for the first paper in this special issue entitled: "Mixed finite element formulations with volume bubble functions for triangular elements" written with Professor Rolf Mahnken. The invited lectures presented at CC2009 and CSC2009 were published in: "Trends in Civil and Structural Engineering Computing", edited by B.H.V. Topping, L.F. Costa Neves and R.C. Barros, and
