Sussex Downs College has become one of the first UK educational establishments to install high-speed Gigabit Ethernet networking direct to desktops and servers to ease network congestion. Gigabit Ethernet allows users to access information on a local area network at speeds of up to 1000mbps, as opposed to the common shared 10mbps or 100mbps bandwidth.
