E-tailers still have a way to go on data security

The report from Symantec highlighting that hackers see e-tailers as an easy target for stealing credit card details, increasing attacks by 15% since last year, highlights two major issues regarding internet security. The first is that it appears that companies are still not taking security seriously, despite numerous well publicised data breaches with their accompanying large penalties and fines. They are still haphazardly fixing problems as they arise, without realising the need for an approach that will deliver regulatory compliance and information assurance across the organisation.
