Unilever slashes San costs

Unilever has slashed the cost of managing its storage area network (San) by deploying storage optimisation tools. The consumer goods manufacturer is using Virtual Instruments' Net-Wisdom tool to improve the speed and performance of its San, which holds five petabytes of data.rnAn independent benchmarking exercise found that Unilever's optimised San offered the best price/performance metrics, compared with other consumer goods manufacturers.rnNetWisdom helps storage managers by diagnosing where application performance issues are caused by poor San performance.
