Standard Life's new chief technology officer (CTO), Mark Dixon, has had a busy few months since he was poached from IBM last summer, an appointment that reflects the importance of technology as a key pillar of the firm's business strategy.As the insurer's first ever CTO, Dixon has led and accelerated the on-going changes around systems con-solidation, agile systems delivery as well as cost reduction - Standard Life wants to deliver efficiency savings of £100m by 2012 and IT will play a big role in the process.
