International standardization of ADC-based measuring systems-state of the ed

The current situation of the standardization of measuring systems based on analog-to-digital converters is analysed. Main in-force standards as well as ongoing drafts are reviewed at four levels f world, regional (continental), national, and category. The lack of a standard specifically aimed at end-users is focused. Then, a proposal for an international standard is explained, ed the corresponding activities of the European Project for ADC-based devices Standardization (EUPAS), which was developed in the framework of IMEKO TC-4 Working Group on ‘A/D and D/A Converter Metrology', are reported.
