ISO TC46/SC2 has been trying to make up an international standard (IS) transliteration (TL) of Hangeul, Korean script, for more than 10 years. We investigate controversial issues and recommend a desirable IS of Hangeul TL. Due to difference between Korean Hanmal English phonological pattern, some used G for Gi'yeog and some used K. Since Romanization is not just for English speaking people, G is preferred to K for Gi'yeog. Hangeul TL should be used in almost every field except in rare cases where Hanmal phonemic transcription (TS) can be used.
