First International Conference on Statistical Language and Speech Processing, SLSP 2013

摘要

This special issue of the journal 'Computer Speech and Language' offers extended versions of some of the best papers presented at the First International Conference on Statistical Language and Speech Processing, SLSP 2013, held in Tarragona, Spain, on July 29-31,2013, under the organisation of the Research Group on Mathematical Linguistics (GRLMC) from Rovira i Virgili University in Tarragona and the Research Group in Computational Linguistics (RGCL), Research Institute in Information and Language Processing (RIELP) from the University of Wolverhampton. SLSP 2013 was the first event in a series to host and promote research on the wide spectrum of statistical methods that are currently in use in computational language and speech processing; it aimed to attract contributions from both fields. The conference encouraged discussion on the employment of statistical methods (including machine learning) within language and speech processing.
