We fear for peace in the Pickert household. Matt Pickert, a high-school sophomore from Rodman, N.Y., has saved $130 for a set of six-piece surround-sound speakers, and his primary criterion consists of four letters: L-O-U-D. "My bedroom is 10x10, and I want to create a surround-sound environment for games and music," he says. "The speakers should sound great turned all the way up and need to have a headphone jack for late-night gaming." Price won't be a problem for our advisee-PC-speaker makers have pushed prices on entry-level surround-sound sets to unprecedented lows.
