Toshiba pulled out all the stops to accompany Microsoft's Vista debut earlier this year, and the Portege R400 was the result. This beautifully crafted convertible is clad in slick black and [mostly] white, and it delivers a host of advanced features, including a 12.1-inch LED-backlit display, a secondary OLED readout that shows pertinent information (time, battery strength, Wi-Fi signal strength, and more), and embedded EV-DO wireless broadband. This 3.8-pound ma-chine isn't for everyone, but if you can handle the price, it's a nice piece of arm candy.
