Those who need to rely on a Windows-based notebook for video editing and other processor-intensive tasks will find just what they need in the Lenovo ThinkPad W700. This portable workstation combines power and innovation to rise head and shoulders above every other notebook on the market. At 1.6×16.1×12.2 inches (HWD) and 8.4 pounds, the W700 is cumbersome for travel. But at a desk, its bright 17-inch LCD and desktop-like performance will have you forgetting you're using a laptop. The W700 has all the usual ThinkPad accoutrements, including the matte-black finish, keyboard light above the LCD, and both a Trackpoint pointing stick and a touch pad for pointer control. Typical for Lenovo, the comfortable keyboard has a solid feel and deep throw, and the W700's large size means there's room for a full numeric keypad. To the right of the touch pad is a built-in Wacom Digitizer to be used with the included stylus. You can scale it so that the drawing area covers the entire screen or just a portion, making it an excellent tool for fine tweaks to an image.
