摘要

The knowledge of the mechanical properties of bone tissue is needed to develop predictive models to estimate the risk of fractures. The literature presents several techniques trying to correlate the bone mineral content determined by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Raman spec-troscopy (Tai et al. 2005) or second harmonic generation microscopy with the mechanical properties determined by indentation techniques or atomic force microscopy (AIM) used as a nanoindenter (Berkovich diamond tip; Tai et al. 2005).
