Boris FX has released Boris Blue 2.5.1 with support for Windows Vista and new Nvidia and ATI drivers, which are qualified by Avid and Adobe. Boris Blue 2.5 delivers: advanced 3D lighting, advanced materials for 3D surfaces, true 3D shape deformers for all shapes, custom bevels and extrusion faces, and 3D Particle Emitters for realistic simulation of smoke, fire, and sparks. Boris Blue takes advantage of Nvidia and ATI graphics cards to accelerate GPU rendering and preview. Users gain the ability to import 3D model files, such as .3ds (3ds Max) and .obj (Maya) geometry files, as well as to animate a camera along a bezier path, focus a camera on a specific 3D point, and track a 3D object while it moves through 3D space.
