SilhouetteFX has debuted Version 3 of its Silhouette rotoscoping and paint system, offering an entirely stereoscopic workflow, a new planar tracker, support for X-Splines, and a comprehensive keyer. Its new keying, effects, and compositing features are stereo-enabled, its nodes are no longer hidden, EXR integrated stereo footage can be used, and clips can be previewed as anaglyphs. Additional tools include DV/HD de-artifacting, multiple matte creation, color suppression, and sophisticated matte manipulation. Version 3 also boasts 64-bit execution under compatible Windows and Linux operating systems, support for 3:2 pulldown and pullup, a free After Effects Silhouette Shape Import/Export plug-in, and the ability to load and save IFF, PNG, and Targa file formats. Silhouette Version 3, now shipping, is priced at $995.
