Holly: A Drawing Editor for Designing Stencils

Designing a stencil is difficult because of the requirement that all positive regions are connected. In this proposed method for generating expressive stencils, you simply use standard drawing operations, and the system automatically generates the appropriate stencil satisfying that constraint. You obtain the physical stencil by sending the result to a cutting plotter. Finally, you use the stencil to decorate the target object (for example, fabric or a postcard).
