Microsoft declares war on phishers

Microsoft's Global Phishing Enforcement Initiative (GPEI) is one of the biggest assaults yet on cybercrime, attempting to coordinate law enforcement agencies, governments and other IT companies to step up prosecution rates and recruit new technology to combat the problem. It represents not just a re-launch of earlier anti-phishing schemes but also an increased commitment, with Microsoft currently prosecuting 100 alleged phishers in the EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa).
