摘要

The Nationwide Building Society's £1 million fine imposed by the FSA (Financial Services Authority) for failing to protect customer data held on a laptop has prompted many enterprises to review their whole security strategy for information held on portable devices. The likely changes will involve encryption of data held on laptops or PDAs, and measures to ensure that the devices are immediately cut off from the enterprise network or privileged services in the event of their theft.
