IPv6: More than protocol for next generation Internet

IPv6, the next generation of the Internet Protocol (IP) standard, has evolved dramatically since first defined in the early 1990s. The significantly enlarged addressing space of IPv6 is expected to adequate for the foreseeable future. Furthermore, IPv6 has several new features, such as integrated security (IPSec), enhanced mobility support (Mobile IPv6), integrated multicasting, QoS support with flow labels and auto-configuration. Therefore, IPv6 is not simply a protocol for the next-generation Internet; it enables new solutions for the next generation Internet.
