SHOWING HIDDEN FILES

Sometimes the instructions for fixing an error involve replacing or deleting special files that are normally hidden from view. In order to see these files, changes need to be made to the folder view options in Windows Explorer. In Windows XP open My Computer and clickTools then Folder options. In the View tab, scroll down the list and click 'Show hidden files and folders'. Now find 'Hide protected operating system files' and untick the box.
