IS IT A PHONE? IS IT A COMPUTER? NOBODY KNOWS

I bought an HTC Desire smartphone less than a month ago. Then disaster struck: the cat knocked it off the mantelpiece, it hit the stone tireplace and the screen cracked. I know this is an accident and not an inherent fault so hoped my home contents insurance would cover this. It will cover accidental damage to computers, audio and visual equipment but Tesco told me it does not cover this phone. My argument is that it is more than a phone. It is a computer, an audio and visual device and I use it more for sending and receiving emails and going online than I do making calls.
