Switch on a pc and, typically, there will be a significant delay before windows finishes launching and is ready to use. One of the reasons for such slow start times is that some programs launch themselves at the same time as the operating system. Specifically, these will be listed in the startup program group, in the start menu. These applications try to make use of the computer's processor and hard disk, creating a backlog that slows things down. Startup delayer is a free program that enables the launch of these start-up programs to be staggered. This doesn't mean that the offending programs will launch any quicker: rather the slowest ones can be selectively delayed, allowing windows to get on its feet far faster. Here's how to take advantage.
