It doesn't take much for the Windows Desktop to become cluttered: open just a handful of windows and the space is soon gobbled up. Adding a second monitor can alleviate the problem but it's expensive and requires extra space on your desk.rnAn alternative is to use 'virtual' desktops. These behave in exactly the same way as the normal Windows Desktop but several can be rnmanaged at once, flipping between them as you go. You could, for example, keep open Word documents on one desktop while reserving another for web browsing.
