Airlines such as Ryanair, which have attracted criticism over unclear booking charges, will drop debit-card surcharges or include them in the price, to avoid legal action from the Office of FairTrading(OFT).The move follows an investigation by the OFT, which found airlines were "engaging in prohibited unfair commercial practices". Clive Maxwell, the OFT's chief executive, said the organisation had made it clear "from the start that we would use all our enforcement powers, including court action if necessary".
