Changing the settings on a router is not always easy. The unusual Securifi Almond gets around this by using a touchscreen, so you don't need a computerto configure it. The small router measures just 12cm square with a bright 2.8in colour touchscreen on the front. When the screen is off, a small white status light lets you know that the router is working. At the right edge are three lOOMbps Ethernet connectors; people with lots of wired devices will need to add a network switch. It works best with a fibre-optic or cable broadband connection because it doesn't have an integrated ADSL modem. There aren't any USB ports for sharing a printer or disks.
