The Surface Pro may be Microsoft's flagship Windows 8 computer, but its neat design touches and robust build can't hide the fact that it often feels awkward to use either as a hand-held tablet or as a laptop. Its pressure-sensitive stylus will appeal to graphic artists, but everyone else should think very carefully about what they want from a portable computer before buying. Having the best of a tablet and a laptop in a single hybrid computer instead of juggling two separate devices is a compelling idea, but we have yet to see a good implementation of that idea and the Microsoft Surface Pro is no exception.
