YouTube has declared its intention to take on Spotify by announcing a streaming music service available on Android, iOS and Desktop web browsers. Called Music Key, it lets you listen to an unlimited amount of audio and video streams, and download them. It will include albums from artists signed to all three major labels - Universal, Sony and Warner Music - plus hundreds of independent labels. Google, which owns YouTube, said that the service will undergo a six-month beta trial in seven countries only: the UK, US, Ireland, Finland, Italy, Spain and Portugal. Music Key comes in two versions - with adverts, which is free, and without adverts, which costs £9.99 a month. However, early subscribers will get their first six months for free, and then pay a discounted rate of £7.99 a month.
