Has Norton's antivirus wrecked my laptop?

Q I've been using Norton 360 antivirus software for several years. The latest version wouldn't work properly and after failed attempts by Norton technical support to fix the problem my laptop isn't working anymore. My local repair shop said it couldn't do anything and that it'd be too expensive to repair the graphics card and motherboard. Norton said the antivirus isn't to blame. What's your view?
