Police arrest hackers sending scam emails in cybercrime crackdown

Hackers involved in sending phishing emails have been arrested as part of a cybercrime 'strike week' that saw 25 operations across the UK. In total, between 2 and 6 March, police arrested 57 people suspected of various types of cybercrime, including building malware, online fraud and launching DDoS attacks. In the biggest operation, carried out in London and Essex, 25 people were arrested on suspicion of stealing money and laundering cash through the internet.
