Amazon is reportedly planning a crackdown on fake goods sold on the site, with a source claiming it will work with manufacturers to build a database of genuine items. Talking to the website Bloomberg, an Amazon staff member (who wanted to remain anonymous) said that the store will ask companies to register their brands with it, even if they don't sell items through it. Once a brand is registered, anyone selling related items through Amazon Marketplace will have to prove that they have permission to do so.
